Quilts and Liberty

It seems craft is becoming more and more cool each day, I went to the V&A museum to see the Quilts exhibition a couple of weeks ago- actually on the opening day! I have to say I loved the military quilts the best and I love to think of the soldiers sitting their making them in their down time between fighting for freedom. There is also some work by Tracey Emin who, in hindsight, was quite a pioneer, she was making quilts or blankets to express her (sometimes controversial) opinions and feelings when it was totally unfashionable.
Liberty prints seem to be everywhere at the moment too and they have launched a limited edition range based on some of the quilts in the exhibition. I really like the 'Red hearts' print, check out the collection here.

Tropicalia

I saw this print (dress on the right) in the window at French Connection today and it inspired me to make a board of some current tropical inspired fashion using my new discovery Polyvore.

Let's talk about Hawaii

As a long time lover of Hawaiian shirts (yes, really and I have a book to prove it!) and all things tropical - and I don't just mean dodgy 80's drink Um Bongo... I am really pleased that tropical prints are making a come back and look set to stay for a while! I started to get excited when I first saw the Prada ss10 collection
